Troubleshooting Failed Integration Invoices

When FiscoBridge can't fiscalize an invoice from your accounting or booking platform, it tells you why — directly inside the platform the invoice came from — and in most cases retries automatically once the cause is fixed. This guide explains where to look, what each message means, and how to get the invoice fiscalized.

Important: An invoice that failed was not sent to the tax authority. No partial or default fiscalization happens. Once you fix the cause, the invoice can be fiscalized normally.

Zoho Books

QuickBooks

Odoo

Sage

Appended to the sales invoice's Notes field ("VSDC error: …")

Cloudbeds

A note on the reservation

Successful fiscalizations are reported the same way — a note with the fiscal invoice number and verification link, usually with the fiscal journal attached as a PDF.

The Integrations page in the Client Portal additionally shows connection-level warnings (tax label mismatches, connections that need attention) on the affected integration row.

Common Errors and How to Fix Them

"FiscoBridge did NOT fiscalize this invoice" — tax label mismatch

One or more lines on the invoice use a tax that isn't mapped to a fiscal tax label. The note lists exactly which taxes couldn't be mapped and which labels are available.

Fix: In your accounting platform, rename the listed tax (or its component) to match one of the required label letters exactly, then re-approve or edit the invoice so it syncs again. Each platform's connect guide has a step-by-step Tax Labels section:

The Integrations page also flags mismatches on the integration row — after fixing the taxes, click Re-check there to confirm the warning clears.

"FiscoBridge could not fiscalize this invoice — the tax authority rejected it"

The invoice reached the tax authority's system but failed its validation. The note lists the specific problems and the affected fields (for example "Line 3 tax label"), such as:

  • A required field is missing

  • A value is out of range or in the wrong format (e.g. amounts with more than 2 decimal places)

  • Invalid tax labels for your certificate's country

Fix: Correct the highlighted fields on the invoice and re-approve it.

"Maximum number of invoices reached"

Your plan's monthly invoice allowance is used up, so fiscalization is paused for this connection. The message shows your usage, e.g. (3000/3000).

Fix: Upgrade your plan (or wait for the monthly reset on the 1st). See Invoice Limits and Usage — including what happens to the invoices that failed while you were over the limit.

"Authorisation expired — reconnect the integration"

The platform's authorization (OAuth) is no longer valid — for example after a password change, revoked consent, or an expired token.

Fix: In the Client Portal, go to IntegrationsIntegrations, find the affected connection, and click Reconnect. This message appears in the Client Portal on the integration row rather than inside your accounting platform.

Tip for Xero users with multiple organizations: one reconnect restores access for all organizations connected under the same Xero login. See Using Multiple Organizations.

How Retries Work

You don't need to (and can't) manually retry an individual invoice — FiscoBridge handles retries automatically:

  1. Temporary problems (e.g. the platform briefly unreachable) are retried up to 3 times, about 30 seconds apart.

  2. Invoices that still fail are retried automatically about once an hour for up to 3 days.

  3. An invoice that failed with an error note and hasn't changed since is not retried with a duplicate note — FiscoBridge waits for you to fix and re-approve (or edit) it, which triggers a fresh sync immediately.

So the fastest way to get a failed invoice fiscalized is always: fix the cause, then re-approve or edit the invoice in your platform.

Checking the Result

Once fiscalized, the invoice gets a success note with the fiscal invoice number and the tax authority verification link, and it appears in the Client Portal's invoice list with status Signed. If the note doesn't appear within a few minutes of fixing the cause, check the Integrations page for connection-level warnings.
